Application and requirements for MSc BEEC
The following procedure will apply from January 2026, subject to the final publication of the admission regulation. The current admission regulation can be found here.
Programme: Biodiversity: Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation
	Number of admitted students: 40 per year
	Start of studies: winter semester
	Application period: differs for EU and non-EU applicants, see below
Professional requirements
- a Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS or at least 3 years of full time studies) in Biology or a related field with proof of
  - at least 125 ECTS from the Natural Sciences, including
- at least 60 ECTS in Biology.
 Application is also possible for students who passed at least 3/4 of their Bachelor (equivalent to at least 150 of 180 ECTS). Note: The existing credits and completed modules at the time of application are used to assess relevance. 
- Proficiency in English level C1 (according to CEFR), if English it not your native language (accepted certificates).

         Applicants with non-EU citizenship and non-EU Bachelor's degree Application period1 January - 15 February Attention: Steps 1 - 3 (complete registration and upload of required documents) must be done within the application period! Late documents are not considered. Please follow the instructions you receive via e-mail between the steps. 1. Register at the online portalRegister at the online portal. If you already have applied in a previous year and can not register again, please contact the study advisory office Biology (contact see below). 
 Attention: The registration must be completed to gain access to the online application and upload portal.2. Fill in the online applicationSign in at the online portal with your registration number (12 digits, e.g. 801-20262-xxxx). Fill in and submit the online application form. 
 Attention: You can not change data after submission.3. Submit documentsAfter submission of the application form, you have acces to the university's upload portal and must submit all required documents within the application period. 
 Attention: Your application will only be processed after you have entered all mandatory data and uploaded all the required documents within the application period!4. Online Assessment TestAfter the application period has ended on 15 February, all applicants who meet the professional requirements will receive an access link for the mandatory online assessment test by e-mail. If not stated differently in the invitation e-mail, you have one week to complete the test. 5. InterviewBased on the ranking of the selection process, the best students will be invited via e-mail for an online interview. This is expected to be held within 2 month past the application deadline. 6. Await decisionYou will be informed about the outcome of the selection process within 2 month past the application deadline. FAQIn case of questions, please check out the FAQ for application.
