The Faculty of Theology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen invites applications for the position of
Lecturer in “Intercultural Theology”
with 50% of the regular weekly working hours (currently 19.9 hours per week). The contract is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2025 and will be permanent. If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid in accordance with pay group 13 TV-L. The scope of teaching is determined by the LVVO of the state of Lower Saxony
The tasks include:
- the teaching of courses (lower and higher seminars, exercises, excursions, etc.) in the two English-language degree programs “Intercultural Theology,” which the faculty has been running for 15 years (MA Intercultural Theology) or will be newly established on October 1, 2025 (BA Intercultural Theology);
- supervision of BA theses resulting from the degree programs;
- collaboration in interdisciplinary teaching and research cooperations.
You must have the following qualifications:
- completed academic degree in Protestant/Catholic/Orthodox theology;
- completed theological doctorate related to Intercultural Theology or a Religious Studies doctorate related to Intercultural Theology, global Christianity, etc.;
- a proven teaching qualification (e.g. university certificate) is expected;
- experience in student supervision, both empirical and methodological, is highly desirable;
- willingness to offer courses in English;
- willingness to be involved in tasks of academic self-administration (in German);
- if possible, knowledge or experience in the design of barrier-free teaching (methodology & didactics).
