Start: Friday, 13:00–16:15, Room: Oec. 1.168
Provisional dates: 25.10.2024, 08.11.2024, 22.11.2024, 13.12.2024, 24.01.2025
01.10.2024 – 08.11.2024
Based on the competitive situation in food retailing, participants will recognize the importance and management of location policy in the competition for consumers. The seminar will analyze companies’ location requirements for various business types and their spatial expansion policies. The significance of new locations in gaining market share compared to other marketing instruments is of central importance.
Participants are expected to actively engage in face-to-face sessions and attend a practical presentation in preparation. In addition, a group paper (groups of three; approximately 10–12 pages per participant) must be prepared based on secondary data and literature sources, analyzing location policy in food retailing. Previous knowledge in retail management and academic work is advantageous.
Successful participants receive 6 credit points.
