04.07: Our first day of symposium started off with the three workshops! We explored how to thrive as leaders in male-dominated environments, unpacking unconscious bias, sharpening our communication skills, and building personalized strategies for career success. 12.05: Our last Pre-Symposium talk from Ulrike Harjes featured her career path to scientific publishing. Not only did she talk about her story - but she also talked about transferable skills from laboratory work to editorial and gave some tips on how to 'start over' in a new country.
09:05: We had a Pre-Symposium Talk from Emma Robinson today, where she talked about her struggles and bright points during her journey in academia, about how staying true to what she believes in gave her an edge in her career, and touched upon the importance of branding in a scientific field.
