SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Since our society is facing a rapid increase of the elderly population, mostly due to scientific discoveries that promoted a higher life expectancy, one of my main interests is to study glial involvement in aging and neurodegenerative diseases. I am also interested in the neural basis of perception, especially how the integration of information from different senses influences perception and conduct.
