You should not write the bachelor thesis until you have successfully completed the examination in the respective subject.

FAQ
How do I go about finding a topic for a thesis?
It is advisable to look on the websites of the different departments. Either the work is advertised directly or you look at current research projects. Potential topics are often linked to ongoing research or doctoral projects. Contact the project managers directly and start a conversation.
Can the first and second supervisors of the work also be from other faculties, universities or external institutions?
In general, it is easiest if both examiners work at the forestry faculty. But that is not always possible. Then it is advisable that at least the first examiner comes from the faculty. However, at least one examiner must always come from our faculty.
All examiners must have an examination authorization at the faculty. Professors of the faculty/university and lecturers of the faculty are usually automatically authorized to take exams. For all others, the examination authorization must be applied for by the departments at the Dean of Studies.

Do I have to defend my work orally?
No, the faculty does not plan to defend the thesis.
I have already written a thesis in the field of forest sciences in a previous course of study, can I have this work credited?
Under certain circumstances, it is possible to have final theses from another degree program recognized. To do this, you must submit your thesis to a subject representative at the faculty and ask them to check the equivalence. If there is equivalence, they will issue a certificate of equivalence, which you can submit to the examination office.
Can I be reimbursed for travel costs to the recording areas for my master's thesis?
Please clarify the questions in advance with your supervisor. A general reimbursement by the faculty is not possible.
Is there a minimum number of credits or a specific subject semester to start the thesis?
There are no minimum requirements to start a Bachelor's thesis. A Master's thesis, on the other hand, can only be registered if at least 30 ECTS from compulsory and elective courses have been completed beforehand.
For both types of theses, we recommend that you have successfully attended the relevant courses on the subject/topic area of the thesis. Final theses can be started and registered at any time during the semester - it is not mandatory to wait until the last semester.
