KOW HOW_Titelbild_final

KNOW HOW is an online self-learning tool from the University of Göttingen. Sexual violence is a societal problem that also exists at universities. Prevention, education, and a clear stance against all forms of sexual violence are crucial steps on the path to a university where everyone can conduct research, teach, learn, and work in a safe environment.
Various videos and questions showing animated scenes from everyday university life are designed to stimulate thought and encourage reflection on the different roles and one's own role(s), whether in a work, learning, or research context. KNOW HOW aims to address all members of the faculty and all status groups and encourage discussion on this topic.

The project is funded by the Equality Innovation Fund.

Launch of KNOW HOW – Together against sexual violence at the university

We invite all interested parties to the launch of the tool on November 25, 2025 – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women – starting at 10 a.m. at Büsgenweg 1 (F 01) with Prof. Dr. Inge Hanewinkel (Vice President for Equal Opportunities, Diversity, and International Affairs), Prof. Dr. Christian Ammer (Dean of the Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology), Dr. Doris Hayn (Equal Opportunities Officer of the University), and the project team.

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to chat over coffee/tea and cake.

From 11 a.m. to 12 noon, anyone who would like to learn more about KNOW HOW and its specific uses is invited to meet with the project team in FSR 1.1 for a workshop. We kindly ask you to register for this second part of the event from 11 a.m. to 12 noon by sending an email to know-how@uni-goettingen.de.

In addition, an exhibition on the topic of sexism by the Bündnis Gemeinsam gegen Sexismus (Alliance Against Sexism) will be on display in the foyer at Büsgenweg 1 for three weeks starting on November 24.
