Three researchers at Göttingen University among most frequently cited researchers

This year's list of "Highly Cited Researchers" includes three scientists from the University of Göttingen: the chemist Professor Lutz Ackermann, the agricultural scientist Professor Tobias Plieninger and the agroecologist Professor Teja Tscharntke are among the most frequently cited scientists in their fields worldwide.

The ranking by Clarivate Analytics identifies researchers who have demonstrated significant influence through publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. This is an important indicator of the scientific influence of a paper. Highly cited papers in the sciences and social sciences journals indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection™ during the 11-year period 2012 to 2022 were surveyed. Highly cited papers are defined as those that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year.

The list of "Highly Cited Researchers 2023" comprises 7,125 scientists from 20 research fields. It can be found online at https://clarivate.com/highly-cited-researchers.
