Guest researchers

By proposal of the faculty, the Presidential Board can appoint suitable persons by public legal service contract as Guest Researchers (‘Gastwissenschaftler’) with the temporary exercising of tasks in teaching, research, further education and arts. They can be granted payment. Decisive for this is § 35 par. 2 Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (‘Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz’ – NHG). Due to the characteristics of payment there is a general mandatory income tax and social security contribution deduction. It is advised to contact the responsible HR clerk ASAP in order to review the terms.
